Uber (UBER) and Lyft (LYFT) have entered into a settlement agreement in which they will pay New York drivers $328M after the state attorney general investigated a wage-theft complaint charging that the companies collected certain taxes and fees from drivers rather than passengers, The New York TImes’ Ana Ley reports. Without admitting fault in the settlement, Uber will pay $290M and Lyft will provide $38M into two funds that will payout claims that roughly 100,000 current and former drivers in New York State are eligible to file, according to the report.
