The UAW auto union on Monday threatened to widen strikes against Detroit automakers four days after UAW workers went on strike at three U.S. factories, The Wall Street Journal’s Ryan Felton and Nora Eckert report. In a video the UAW shared Monday night, UAW President Shawn Fain said he would release a new round of plant targets at noon on Friday if the companies don’t move enough on their proposals. UAW leaders are worried about layoffs and plant closures as automakers gradually shift their lineups to electric vehicles, and discussions around wages have taken center stage in the negotiations.
