U.S. urges allies to restrict China’s access to semiconductors, Bloomberg says

The U.S. government is pushing its allies, including Netherlands, Germany, South Korea, and Japan, to tighten restrictions on China’s access to semiconductor technology, Diederik Baazil, Cagan Koc, Mackenzie Hawkins, and Michael Nienaber of Bloomberg reports. The U.S. is urging Netherlands to stop ASML Holding NV (ASML) from servicing and repairing sensitive chipmaking equipment Chinese clients purchased. The U.S. also wants Japanese companies to limit export to China, which would affect Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. (SHECY) and Tokyo Ohka Kogyo Co.
