U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said the U.S. government has agreed to take an equity interest in Lithium Americas (LAC), Bloomberg’s Doug Alexander, Romaine Bostick, Ari Natter, and Katie Greifeld report. The move would give a boost to the Canadian company as it works on its Thacker Pass lithium project in Nevada, the authors note. Wright added that the U.S. will have a 5% stake in the company and 5% stake in the Nevada mine, the authors say. Shares of Lithium Americas are up nearly 26% in after-hours trading in New York.
