Tyson Foods said that it will permanently shutter its Perry, Iowa pork packing facility, a move that will leave 1,200 staff without a job, Des Moines Register’s Donnelle Eller reports. “After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close our Perry, Iowa pork facility,” a company spokesman said. “We understand the impact of this decision on our team members and the local community,” the spokesman added.
