Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to buy hundreds of Boeing (BA) airliners and Lockheed Martin (LMT) fighters, while pushing for some of their parts to be produced in Turkey, Bloomberg’s Selcan Hacaoglu reports. Erdogan is keen to offset the planned payments for American aircraft with local production deals worth more than $10B, according to people familiar with the matter. The deals are subject to approval by President Donald Trump, who will host Erdogan at the White House, as Ankara works to reset strained relations stemming from its purchase of a Russian missile-defense system.
