Daimler Truck (DTRUY), Volkswagen’s (VWAGY) Navistar, and Volvo Trucks (VLVLY) have formed an association to push for chargers, improvements to the electricity grid, and other measures to promote battery or hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, Jack Ewing of The New York Times reports. The new organization is called Powering America’s Commercial Transportation and will be based in Washington. The organization will work on calling on the government and utilities to help them build more places to charge large rigs.
