TotalEnergies (TTE) is weighing a bid for $5B E&P company Neptune Energy and is among suitors that have held early-stage talks about a potential Neptune takeover, sources told Bloomberg’s Antonio Vanuzzo, Dinesh Nair and William Mathis. Neptune, which is backed by Carlyle Group (CG) and CVC Capital Partners, could be valued at more than $5 billion in a sale and the company had earlier attracted interest from Eni SpA (E), Bloomberg reported previously.
