Tesla cut prices across its U.S. lineup this month, which has sparked backlash from customers, many of whom paid thousands more for their vehicles a few weeks earlier, Nora Eckert of The Wall Street Journal reports. On Wednesday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said demand has surged following the price reductions, which executives said was done to make the vehicles more affordable and to qualify some models for a federal electric-vehicle tax credit. Since the price cut, an operator of a Tesla-focused YouTube channel has petitioned for customers who purchased their cars before the lower prices to get free or discounted software downloads. Meanwhile, other customers claim Tesla is a company that can no longer be trusted and some Tesla owners on Chinese social media said they felt betrayed. Reference Link
