A Tesla driver fatally crashed into a firetruck on an interstate highway Saturday morning, an accident that comes as U.S. regulators are scrutinizing Tesla vehicle crashes into stationary emergency vehicles, Patience Haggin of The Wall Street Journal reports. The firetruck was parked across two lines to block traffic while police officers assisted with towing a vehicle. The Tesla driver was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger riding in the vehicle was transported to the hospital in critical condition, a spokeswoman told the Journal. The cause of the crash is currently unknown and it has yet to be determined if Tesla’s advanced driver-assistance systems, known as Autopilot, were engaged at the time of the crash. Reference Link
