Spire collaboration with Nvidia to solve challenges in forecasting, says Stifel

Spire’s (SPIR) collaboration with Nvidia (NVDA), an effort to bring to market advanced AI-driven weather prediction solutions by introducing differentiated forecast products that were not previously possible using traditional numeric weather prediction models, will see Spire integrate its Radio Occultation data and proprietary data assimilation capabilities with NVIDIA Earth 2 Cloud APIs, Stifel tells investors in a research note. The analyst, who made no change to the firm’s Buy rating on Spire, says that through AI, Spire will be able to offer new forecasting products that will be able to capture the entire range of possible weather outcomes, enhancing applications such as its DeepVision weather risk mitigation platform, maritime route optimization and renewable energy power forecasts.
