Shell appeals against ruling ordering to cut greenhouse gas emissions, FT says

This week, Shell (SHEL) will work to convince judges in The Hague to repeal an order to cut greenhouse gas emissions, Kenza Bryan of The Financial Times reports. Lawyers from Clifford Chance will be arguing the ruling calling for the company to slash emissions by 45% by 2030 relative to 2019 had no legal basis. This specific ruling spawned a series of copycat cases by non-profit groups against multinational companies, most recently including BNP Paribas (BNPQY) and Total Energy (TTE).
