Restaurant-industry group Save Local Restaurants is suing California state officials, claiming they plan to unlawfully start implementing a new law that would establish minimum hourly wages for fast-food employees, the Wall Street Journal’s Jacob Bunge and Ben Fritz report, citing the suit. The group said the law, set to go into effect Jan. 1, should not be implemented as the secretary of state’s office is still in the process of verifying signatures from a petition submitted by the group to require Californians to vote on the measure in 2024. Efforts to block the law have seen support from McDonald’s (MCD), Starbucks (SBUX), Yum Brands (YUM) and Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG). Reference Link
