Royal Bank of Canada’s (RY) acquisition of HSBC‘s (HSBC) Canadian business received approval from Canada’s Competition Bureau, which said the deal does not violate competition law, Bloomberg’s Derek Decloet reports. The bureau said the deal won’t result in a “substantial lessening or prevention of competition,” the author notes.
