Petrobras CEO Jean Paul Prates is likely to exit in the coming days, Reuters’ Lisandra Paraguassu reports, citing two government sources. In addition, newspaper O Globo says that government ministers have reached an agreement to release an extraordinary dividend withheld from shareholders in March, a decision which led to internal turmoil between Prates and members of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s cabinet. Aloizio Mercadante, the head of state development bank BNDES, is being considered as a substitute for Prates, according to the sources.
