B. Riley lowered the firm’s price target on Oportun Financial to $9 from $13 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares following the company’s Q3 report on December 6. While EPS has been difficult to predict because small changes in loss rates and fair-value accounting adjustments cause big swings in net income, the firm expects lower rates, a lower cost structure and an activist investor in Findell Capital Management to support a re-rating of shares over time.
