OpenAI’s research organization is in upheaval after the promotion of Liam Fedus to lead post-training, with several researchers asking to switch teams, The Information’s Stephanie Palazzolo and Erin Woo report, citing three people with knowledge of the situation. According to the report, ex-chief technology officer Mira Murati, whose last day was October 4 and is now an advisor to the company, has been talking with OpenAI employees about potentially joining her next venture, the people say. Investors in OpenAI include Microsoft (MSFT), Thrive Capital, Khosla Ventures, Fidelity Management, Nvidia (NVDA), and SoftBank (SFTBY).
