Microsoft has named Rare studio head Craig Duncan to lead Xbox Game Studios following the departure of Alan Hartman, The Verge’s Tom Warren reports. The move comes less than a year after Hartman assumed the role after Matt Booty was promoted to president of game content and studios, the author notes. In an email to Xbox staff seen by The Verge, Booty said that Hartman is retiring at the end of next month, that Duncan will take over the Xbox Game Studios head role soon, and that Joe Neate and Jim Horth will become co-leads of Rare.
