Nissan’s COO Gupta to leave the company, FT reports

The impending departure of chief operating officer, COO, Ashwani Gupta comes after months of internal turmoil and removes a strong opponent to the terms that Nissan (NSANY) is seeking to rebalance its alliance with Renault (RNSDF), Leo Lewis, Kana Inagaki, Peter Campbell, and Sarah White of The Financial Times reports, citing four people with direct knowledge of the situation. Gupta’s official departure from the company is set to be announced in days, people told the Times. Sources told the Times that Gupta agreed to step down after Motoo Nagai, a full-time outside director that heads Nissan’s audit committee, presented him with multiple internal complaints.
