Nissan, GM warn Trump’s plan to tear up IRA to hurt EV sales, FT reports

Carmakers including Nissan (NSANY) and GM (GM) have warned that former president Donald Trump’s plans to gut the Inflation Reduction Act will hurt U.S. EV sales, The Financial Times’ Peter Campbell, Amanda Chu, and Christian Davies report. GM CFO Paul Jacobson said the IRA had “tremendous benefit” to the EV market, helping stimulate sales, while Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida said that the measures helped drive EV sales in the country “in the medium to long term.” Other publicly traded automakers include Ford (F), Honda (HMC), Stellantis (STLA), Toyota (TM), Tesla (TSLA), and Volkswagen (VWAGY).
