Netflix considering streaming live boxing match, WSJ reports

Netflix (NFLX) is exploring streaming a live boxing match featuring boxer and YouTube influencer Jake Paul, as well as a potential bout between boxers from Premier Boxing Champions, which is a show currently on Paramount’s (PARA) Showtime, The Wall Street Journal’s Jessica Toonkel reports. Netflix will stream its first live sporting event, “The Netflix Cup,” a live golf tournament featuring athletes from its Formula One documentary, “Drive to Survive,” and “Full Swing,” its show following professional golfers, on November 14. Discussions around streaming a boxing match are still in a very early stage and might not come to fruition, the people say.
