The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence said in a written statement on Thursday that it has ended a GBP 395M contract with General Dynamics after the company failed to deliver a key part of a program for the planned next-generation tactical communications system, known as Morpheus, reported Financial Times. Delivery against the original time frame was “not met” and progress on the Morpheus project had fallen “short of what we expected,” so the contract “has now been concluded,” FT quotes James Cartlidge, the defence procurement minister, as having stated.
