Microsoft plans to spend GBP 2.5B, or $3.2B, in the U.K. over three years, its largest investment there to date, to underpin AI and bring 20K GPUs to the U.K., Reuters’ Sarah Young reports. The funding, which was first announced at a summit hosted by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday, will more than double Microsoft’s data center footprint in Britain, the report notes. “Today’s announcement is a turning point for the future of AI infrastructure and development in the UK,” Sunak said in a statement on Thursday.
