Microsoft (MSFT) is bringing back pop-up ads in Google’s (GOOGL) Chrome browser on Windows in an effort to get users to switch to its Bing search engine, The Verge’s Tom Warren reports. The software giant first introduce malware-like pop-ups in 2023 that contained a prompt that appeared over the top of other apps and windows, the author notes.
