Intel (INTC) and Microsoft (MSFT) are hinting at the potentially upcoming Windows 12, with hardware leaker @leaf_hobby publishing details about Intel’s Meteor Lake desktop platform, which the leaker says "reportedly mentions internally that its next-gen CPUs will support Windows 12," The Verge’s Tom Warren reports. While that tweet has been deleted, the report says VideoCardz also said Meteor Lake is expected to include 20 PCIe Gen5 lanes and support for Windows 12. Microsoft hasn’t announced any plans for Windows 12, but head of consumer marketing Yusuf Mehdi told The Verge earlier this week that "As we start to develop future versions of Windows we’ll think about other places where AI should play a natural role in terms of the experience."
