Microsoft aims to turn Windows PCs into AI PCs, Verge reports

Microsoft (MSFT) is seeking to turn every Windows 11 PC into an AI PC that Copilot controls and users speak to, The Verge’s Tom Warren reports. “We think we’re on the cusp of the next evolution, where AI happens not just in that chatbot and gets naturally integrated into the hundreds of millions of experiences that people use every day,” Yusuf Mehdi, executive vice president and consumer chief marketing officer at Microsoft, told The Verge. “The vision that we have is: let’s rewrite the entire operating system around AI, and build essentially what becomes truly the AI PC.” The company is rolling out a set of capabilities in Windows that will begin to weave AI features into normal Windows 11 PCs, rather than consumers having to purchase a particular Copilot Plus PC, the author notes.
