As the ride-share company has struggled with competition from Uber (UBER), some people within the company had been questioning the leadership of its co-founders-Chief Executive Logan Green and President John Zimmer-for months. Some investors and stock analysts also had urged change. In recent meetings and Slack messages, employees had questioned whether Messrs. Green and Zimmer were still the right people to lead the business, according to attendees and messages described to The Wall Street Journal.
