BofA analyst Muneeba Kayani upgraded Lufthansa to Neutral from Underperform with a price target of EUR 8.90, up from EUR 6.10. The analyst expects a slow start for European airlines in 2023 with a recovery beginning to emerge in Q2. Demand could surprise to the upside in 2023, and while balance sheets are stretched, there is sufficient liquidity and potential acquisitions is the bull case for the sector, Kayani tells investors in research note.
