Sean Bailey, who has long served as president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production (DIS), is stepping down from his role amid shareholder pressure to reverse the media giant’s box office cold streak, the New York Times’ Brooks Barnes reports, citing two Disney executives. Bailey will not be joining Netflix (NFLX), despite meeting with the company’s management to discuss the possibility, and will instead, in the near-term, produce a new “Tron” film for Disney, the author says. Searchlight Pictures co-president David Greenbaum will assume Bailey’s role, the author notes.
