LexisNexis, a unit of Relx, is being sued over the use of personal data to sell subscriptions, Bloomberg Law’s Christopher Brown reports. According to a proposed federal class action, LexisNexis and its parent companies used the personal information of millions of people to advertise its information-based analytic products without their consent in violation of the right of publicity statutes of California and Illinois.
