Berenberg upgraded Legal & General to Buy from Hold with a price target of 289 GBp, up from 258 GBp. The analyst fears of credit risk and real estate valuations have subsided, but the benefits of higher interest rates for Legal & General, such as strong annuity volumes, “are here to stay.” The firm expects strong annuity volumes to drive a step-up in capital generation.
