Judge bars Google from exclusive internet search contracts, Bloomberg reports

A federal judge determined that Google will not have to sell its popular Chrome browser, as part of the latest development in the Justice Department’s landmark antitrust case against the company, Bloomberg’s Josh Sisco reports. The ruling allows the Alphabet (GOOGL) (GOOG) unit to avoid one of the most significant remedy requests from the U.S. after the court determined the company had an illegal monopoly in the search market, the author says, noting that Judge Amit Mehta did bar Google from entering into exclusive contracts for internet search.
