Robin Hayes, CEO of JetBlue (JBLU), said the U.S. government’s antitrust regulators have seemed intent on stopping the airline’s planned takeover of Spirit Airlines (SAVE) and the executive is bracing for the Justice Department to file suit to block the merger in the coming days, reported The Wall Street Journal’s Andrew Tangel. "My expectation is that we will get sued by the DOJ this week," Hayes is quoted as having said in an interview Monday. The CEO is said to have added that JetBlue was prepared to contest a DOJ lawsuit in court. The Department of Justice and Department of Transportation are expected to take action as soon as Tuesday to block JetBlue’s takeover of Spirit Airlines, Leah Nylen and Anna Edgerton of Bloomberg reported earlier this afternoon.
