Intel in lead to possibly get billions under U.S. Chips Act, WSJ reports

Intel is the leading candidate to potentially receive billions under the U.S. Chips Act to build secure facilities producing chips for the US military, The Wall Street Journal’s Yuka Hayashi and Asa Fitch report. According to people familiar with the matter, the facilities would be explicitly designated as a “secure enclave.” Officials from the Commerce Department, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Defense Department are negotiating the project with Intel and haven’t made a final decision, according to the people.
