Independent in discussions to take control of BuzzFeed in U.K., FT reports

U.K. media group The Independent is in discussions to acquire control of the operations of BuzzFeed and Huffington Post in the U.K. and Ireland, The Financial Times’ Daniel Thomas reports. The Independent will assume all editorial and commercial oversight of BuzzFeed in the U.K. under a licensing agreement for its various brands, the author says, citing people familiar with the talks.
