Iliad SA has revives talks on a potential deal for some of Vodafone’s continental European operations, Daniele Lepido and Dinesh Nair of Bloomberg report, citing people with knowledge of the matter. A transaction involving Vodafone’s Italian business is one of several possible scenarios under discussion, sources told Bloomberg. The two companies restarted discussions after Xavier Niel acquired a 2.5% stake in Vodafone in September, but Vodafone may wait for a permanent chief executive officer before finalizing any deals, the people added. Shares of Vodafone are up 5% to $11.76 following the report.
