IBM informed employees within its marketing and communications division of imminent staff reductions, Hayden Field of CNBC reported, citing an individual familiar with the situation. Jonathan Adashek, IBM‘s chief communications officer, reportedly broke the news during a seven-minute meeting with unit members. In December, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna informed CNBC about the company’s extensive upskilling efforts in AI for all employees, following an August announcement to replace around 8,000 jobs with AI.
