Alphabet (GOOGL, GOOG) has been talking to its advisers about the possibility of making an offer for HubSpot (HUBS), Anirban Sen and Milana Vinn of Reuters report, citing people familiar with the matter. Alphabet has met with Morgan Stanley (MS) bankers in recent days about a potential offer for HubSpot and has been discussing how much it should offer and whether antitrust regulators would clear such a deal, sources told Reuters. Alphabet has not yet submitted an offer to HubSpot and there is no certainty it will do so, the sources added. Shares of HubSpot are up 9%, or $58.94, to $685.64 following the report while Alphabet is down 1% to $152.71.
