HSBC CEO Noel Quinn faces pressure from politicians in the U.S. and U.K. to explain why the lender has denied some Hong Kong expatriates access to their retirement funds, Bloomberg’s Harry Wilson and Daniel Flatley report. Mike Gallagher, chairman of the U.S. Congress Select Committee on China, and Alicia Kearns, chairwoman of the U.K. Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Select Committee, both voiced “deep concerns” about the matter in a letter issued to Quinn on Friday, the authors note.
