Honda Motor plans to eliminate 900 positions at a joint venture in China as the company’s sales suffer in a market that is moving rapidly to electric vehicles, Nikkei Asia’s Shizuka Tanabe reports, citing layoff notices. GAC Honda Automobile, a venture with state-owned Guangzhou Automobile Group, sent the notices to workers in late November regarding the cuts, which amount to roughly 7% of a staff numbering about 13,000.
