Chip manufacturer Globalfoundries (GFS) wants to “massively expand” its factory in Dresden and plans to invest $8B for this, but is demanding government support to the same extent as that of rival TSMC (TSM) for its own planned work in Dresden, Globalfoundries CEO Thomas Caulfield said to the Handelsblatt on the sidelines of a customer event in Munich, according to a translation of a German-language report.
