Global Payments studying possible deal to buy Shift4, Bloomberg says

Global Payments (GPN) is weighing an acquisition of rival Shift4 Payments (FOUR), people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg’s Ryan Gould, Michelle Davis and Dinesh Nair. Global Payments has been working with an adviser to study the feasibility of a deal for Shift4 and deliberations are ongoing, with no certainty they’ll result in a transaction, the sources told Bloomberg. Shift4 shares are up 9.7% while Global Payments shares are down nearly 3% in afternoon trading.
