FTC reviewing Amazon.com’s acquisition of iRobot, Politico reports

The FTC is currently considering whether to challenge Amazon’s (AMZN) $1.7B acquisition of iRobot (IRBT), and the agency’s attorneys are leaning toward suing to block the deal, Politico’s Josh Sisco reports, citing discussions with people claiming direct knowledge of the investigation by the FTC’s competition and consumer protection teams. The agency is also conducting a probe into what it may view as "deceptive advertising" in the "Amazon Choice" label, which the company gives certain products on its marketplace, the report states.
