Ford shuts down VIIZR, roughly 40 people laid off, TechCrunch says

Ford (F) is shuttering VIIZR, a software-as-a-service business that along with Salesforce (CRM) created an app to help plumbers, electricians, and other tradespeople schedule appointments, send invoices, and manage customers, TechCrunch’s Kirsten Korosec reports. Roughly 40 people who worked at VIIZR, which was announced in late 2021 as a separate company majority owned by the car maker with Salesforce as a minority shareholder, lost their jobs, the author notes. Ford spokesperson Catherine Hargett confirmed to TechCrunch that the automaker ended its investment in the business and discontinued the product on November 1.
