The The FBI and DOJ disrupted Volt Typhoon, a “uniquely dangerous and potentially life-threatening” Chinese hacking operation to hijack hundreds of Cisco (CSCO) and Netgear (NRGR) routers at end-of-life status, The Wall Street Journal’s Dustin Volz reports. The Justice Department and FBI took action in December after obtaining court approval to dismantle a botnet, or network of hacked devices, consisting of small office and home office routers, according to the report.
