Evercore ISI notes that New Star quality ratings for Medicare Advantage plans went live on the Plan Finder, visible to seniors currently making their plan selections for 2024 but more importantly affecting reimbursement levels and relative competitiveness for the 2025 plan year. Overall, as expected, star ratings stabilized more for 2025 post normalizing last year, the firm says. CVS (CVS), with 85% of enrollment now in 4-plus star contracts is the “big winner.” Other gainers in line with industry include UnitedHealth (UNH) and Cigna (CI), while low single digit decliners include Humana (HUM) and Centene (CNC), with the biggest decliner being Elevance Health (ELV).
