Epic Games lays off about 16% of workforce, Bloomberg reports

“Fortnite” maker Epic Games is laying off 870 staff, or about 16% of its total headcount, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The layoffs were announced in a memo to employees, the author says, noting that workers affected by the cuts will receive six months of severance and health insurance, as well as accelerated stock vesting. Investors in Epic include Tencent (TCEHY), KKR (KKR), Disney (DIS), and Sony (SONY).
