Disney has laid off Marvel Entertainment chairman Isaac Perlmutter, who unsuccessfully tried to shake up the board this past year, as the company looks to cut costs, the New York Times’ Brooks Barnes reports, citing two Disney executives briefed on the matter. Disney told Perlmutter that Marvel Entertainment, a small unit focused on consumer products, was redundant and would be folded in to bigger Disney business divisions. Reference Link
