Deutsche Bank;s staff making EUR 12-an-hour push for pay increase, FT says

530 of Deutsche Bank’s staff has pay that starts at a little more than Germany’s minimum wage, Olaf Storbeck of The Financial Times reports. The bank paid out EUR 2.1B in bonuses last year and has 572 employees making more than EUR 1M a year, but the official hourly rates at DB Direkt start at EUR 12.05, which is only five cents more than required by law. Workers are now calling for a 45% increase to entry level pay, pushing for EUR 17.50 an hour. Staff walked out for 24 hours last week after the company rebuffed the pay increase demand.
