CVS issues block customers from their prescriptions, WSJ reports

Certain customers and patients that rely on CVS‘s Caremark unit to process their drug benefits were left stranded without medications for hours beginning this past Monday, wrote Anna Wilde Mathews for the Wall Street Journal. The CVS unit which processes millions of prescriptions for Americans, “said in a letter sent to pharmacists Monday that it was experiencing an “unexpected system slowdown,” added the WSJ. A spokesperson for the drug store chain said “a system issue impacted Caremark prescription billing and some e-prescriptions yesterday,” noted the WSJ story.
